Introduction

Mercia AI is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment — whether online or in person.

This Code of Conduct applies to:

• All Mercia AI services (e.g. webinars, 1:1 sessions, AI strategy calls)

• All Mercia Minds events, both online (e.g. Zoom) and in-person (e.g. community sessions in Coventry & Mercia)
   

By booking a service or attending an event, you agree to follow the behaviours outlined below.

What We Expect

We ask all clients, attendees, speakers, and collaborators to:

• Be respectful of others’ ideas, experiences, and questions — no matter their knowledge level.

• Practice active listening — don’t dominate discussions.

• Communicate with kindness and professionalism.

• Assume good intent but take responsibility for your own words and actions.

• Speak up if something doesn’t feel right — for yourself or someone else.

What’s Not Allowed

We do not tolerate:

• Discrimination or harassment of any kind — including based on race, gender, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or technical experience.

• Disruptive or aggressive behaviour, including “AI elitism” or “techsplaining.”

• Unwanted promotion or sales pitches during sessions.

• Filming, screenshots, or photography of others without clear consent.

• Sharing Zoom links or session content without permission.

• Any behaviour that puts others at risk or causes discomfort.
   

Online Session Etiquette (Applies to Zoom & Remote Services)

• Please Keep your mic muted when not speaking.

• Please join on time.

• Respect everyone’s time — stay on topic, and avoid interrupting.

• If the session is being recorded, this will be clearly stated in advance.
   

If Something Happens

If you experience or witness behaviour that concerns you:

• Speak to the host during the session (e.g. Chris Howell).

• Or email: contact@merciaai.com after the session.
   

All reports will be handled with care and discretion.

Anyone found in breach of this code may be removed from a session and, in serious cases, barred from future services or events.
